The Event
The Adventure Summit is a joint production of Five Rivers MetroParks and Wright State University, designed to showcase Dayton as the "Outdoor Adventure Capital of the Midwest." The 2026 event marks the 20th anniversary of the summit, offering a mix of ticketed kickoff festivities and a full day of free programming. MORE INFO HERE.

Featured Personalities & Presentations The heart of the summit lies in its speaker series. The 2026 lineup features:

  • Erick Cedeño: Known as the "Bicycle Nomad," Cedeño will share his 1,900-mile journey retracing the historic route of the Buffalo Soldiers.

  • Michelle and Brian Coleman: A deep dive into their transformative experiences walking the Camino de Santiago and how pilgrimage reshaped their lives.

  • Trapper Haskins: An exploration of his epic journey rowing a handcrafted boat down the Mississippi River, a story recently captured in his 2024 book.

Kickoff Event (Friday, Feb 20) New for this year, a ticketed kickoff event titled "An Evening Featuring Films, Music, & Inspiration" will take place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. This evening includes a screening of the film The Way, My Way, Q&A sessions with the featured presenters, and live music by Trapper Haskins.

The Saturday Expo (Saturday, Feb 21) From 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., the Wright State University Student Union transforms into an adventure hub. Highlights include:

  • The Expo Area: Dozens of exhibitors, including local clubs, outfitters, and conservation organizations, showcasing the latest gear and regional opportunities.

  • Educational Sessions: Dozens of grassroots presentations covering topics from local hidden gems to international expeditions.

  • Interactive Activities: Opportunities to engage in fitness challenges, skill demonstrations, and networking with fellow enthusiasts.

Location & Admission The main summit on Saturday is free and open to the public, making it an accessible resource for anyone looking to expand their outdoor horizons. It is located at the Wright State University Student Union, 3640 Col. Glenn Hwy, Dayton, Ohio.
