Service Technician (Level I / Level II)

Role Responsibilities

The Service Technician’s primary focus will be on servicing vehicle-based camping solutions (e.g. truck campers, rooftop tents, canopy campers, camper vans, etc.) and installing camper upgrades and customizations.

In addition to handling service work, the Service Technician is also able to flex and support the front of house retail shop as needed. Answering customer questions about our campers and gear offered, processing sales in the retail shop, and providing a friendly and positive experience for all customers. In doing so, they learn all the different parts of the business and will have opportunities to grow in different areas. 

Responsibilities

  • Camper service, detailing, and custom upgrades and installations in campers and other types of overland rigs 

  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace in the service area

  • Ensure a friendly and positive customer experience for all customers

  • Process retail sales transactions with Square point-of-sale system

  • Become knowledgeable about the products we sell in order to answer customer questions

  • Occasional weekend travel to attend expos and events, like Overland Expo East, with the team to promote Lark Overland, show off campers, and sell merchandise.

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and perform physical work throughout the day

  • Able to work: Wed-Sat 10am-6pm (some flexibility available and hours may change)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Overland travel, camping, or other experience in the outdoors

  • Mechanical/automotive/carpentry aptitude and experience

  • Understanding of 12V and 110V electrical systems

  • Forklift certification

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting pay (level I) $18-$22 per hour depending on experience

  • Starting pay (level II) $24-$30 per hour depending on experience

  • 3 weeks paid time off on an accrual basis

  • Flexible unpaid time off

  • 4 day work-week & 3 day weekends Sun-Tues
